Dear Church Family,

As we enter the month of March, we find ourselves in the sacred rhythm of Lent. It is a quieter season in the life of the church – forty days that invite us to slow down, to reflect, and to draw a little closer to the heart of God.

Lent is not meant to be gloomy or heavy. Instead, it is a season for honesty, truth, and tenderness. It is a time that gives us space to look at our lives, to reflect on our relationship with God, and to practice new ways of spending time in God’s presence. Where are we thriving? Where are we weary? Where have we drifted? And where might God be calling us forward – to trust more deeply, to release what no longer serves us, to step into something new?

In our busy world, it is easy to just keep moving from one responsibility to the next – sometimes even from one crisis to another, without pausing to notice how our lives are being shaped. Lent offers us a different way. It invites us to listen more closely: to Scripture, to the quiet nudges of the Holy Spirit, and to the places within us that need healing.

This season reminds us that our journey with Christ is ongoing. We can always grow deeper in faith, no matter how long we have been following Jesus. God continues to draw near, regardless of how we might feel on any given day. Our faith is not about perfection; it is about returning again and again to the One who calls us beloved.

I am grateful for the many ways I see this lived out in our churches through your prayers, your generosity, and your willingness to serve one another and our communities. As we walk these weeks of Lent together, my prayer is that each of you will discover something that is life-giving.

May this season become not one of obligation, but of grace.

In Christ’s Love, Pastor Lisa
